Last year PwC Australia announced the creation of 300 local South Australian jobs, that is now set to increase to 2,000 in the next five years.
This is yet another example of South Australia being a beacon for major companies to set up shop and create thousands of jobs.
PwC Australia is already on track to employ 300 people in South Australia in less than nine months, with 35 per cent of the new cohort having relocated to Adelaide from outside South Australia to call our state home.
With a strong focus on digital and technology roles across cyber security, cloud, analytics, integrated infrastructure and more, the expansion of PwC Australia in South Australia also strengthens South Australia’s position as a hub for digital health innovation and as a world leader within the hi-tech sector.
The investment by PwC Australia to expand within the state is testament to the innovative structure of the hi-tech ecosystem.
Companies have either expanded or relocated to South Australia because they can see the value of being located near to each other where they can collaborate and partner.
With its global reputation in artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning and hi-tech capabilities, companies are recognising the value of doing business in Adelaide, the world’s third most liveable city.
Jamie Briggs, Managing Partner of PwC Australia’s Adelaide office said South Australia was the home of innovation, which is why PwC Australia is establishing its Skilled Service Hub here.
“As part of PwC Australia’s digital transformation strategy, we are making a significant investment in growth to meet the rising demand for skills in cyber, cloud and assurance services,” Mr Briggs said.
“The South Australian Government also has a strong focus on cybersecurity as an area of economic growth, making Adelaide the new destination for innovation.
“It’s the city Australians want to work in, whether they live in or out of state, and is opening new and different prospects for resourcing and helping to build Australia’s workforce of the future.”
PwC Australia’s Skilled Service Hub will be able to collaborate and partner with some of the world’s leading organisations, based in the heart of Adelaide, such as the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), ranked second in the world for computer vision in 2021; the Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments (IVE), producing the most augmented research globally by a university; one of the world’s leading data analytics capabilities provided by the MIT bigdata Living Lab and; the Australia Cyber Collaboration Centre (A3C) that is leading the creation and sustainability of Australia’s cyber community.
PwC Australia is part of a network of firms located in nearly 160 countries around the world, employing more than 295,000 people and is one of the top 50 brands worldwide. PwC Australia has already employed close to 300 staff to work at the Skilled Service Hub, with live roles and expressions of interest open via the Skilled Services Hub.
